SCRUB TURKEY TV is the TV training program that should have been happening somewhere all these years, but never did. This isn't talking about or writing essays about television, this is the making of television, and it is the first training program of its kind in the country. QPIX TRAINING is proud to present this course in partnership with CHANNEL SEVEN BRISBANE and BRANDRALLY Web Design. We are calling for adventurous filmmakers who want to become involved from the ground floor in the making of an exciting new TV program for kids - every episode will be an adventure, and no one knows where the teams will end up, collecting grabs and stories on every subject imaginable (and some that aren't).
SCRUB TURKEY TV will be a magazine-format children's show that wil be entertaining, educational and informative. We will produce 7 x half-hour episodes for this first series. The show will have a living interactive website and the show and the site will throw to each other. The production team (the students) will work in their rolling teams on the production of the show segments, the purposing and conforming of the segments to both TV and web, and on the final Show itself when it is shot at the CHANNEL SEVEN studios on Mt Coot-tha. You just don't know where these scrub turkeys will turn up, or what they will do next.
The show will be presented by a dynamic group of 3 teenage presenters who will be separately trained and auditioned in our TV PRESENTERS COURSE.
This show, by some wonderful freak of nature, is also a Diploma in Screen & Media, with a specialisation in Television. It will be taught by some of the leading television producers and technicians in the state who will work with the students to make this a top show and a cutting edge course.
SCRUB TURKEY TV will be an ideal training program for a wide range of people, but in accepting applications we will have to generally preference those with some previous training or experience in filmmaking, whether privately, or in school, or at University, or with related backgrounds in web-design or project management. It will be designed to be job-friendly in terms of your weekly commitments to the course. Some business-skills training is included in the course to prepare you for the industry, and guide you in creating your own business plans.
Graduates will receive the all-important screen credits, a Diploma, and if the show is successful, we will encourage those who wish to, to stay on and produce a second series.
Course details and course costs are currently being finalised and will be on the website in November, but those wishing to register their expressions of interest it this outstanding new course should contact QPIX now! NEXT YEAR's SHOW (and training course) !!??? ... watch this space
