This is a service provided by QPIX to the screen industry and it is recommended to both students and graduates of QPIX Training.
It functions as an open-access agency, profiling both emerging and established actors. Producers and Directors make us of the files in casting directly and in building sets of performers for auditions.
The service is used extensively by the independent production sector. It has also proven an invaluable tool for students from QPIX Training, and from other student productions at the tertiary and VET level, in their auditioning and casting endeavours.
The quality of their work can often be assessed from viewing some of the many thousands of titles archived in QPIX’s unique video library, the world’s most comprehensive collection of independent Queensland production from the last decade.
This service is known to Agents and they support it.
While the service facilitates contact between filmmakers and actors, it is expected that filmmakers follow one of the following paths ways in establishing agreements with all actors:
- Pay actors Award fee or above for their services as a first position.
- If the actor is willing, defer full fee but commit in Contract to pay Award in the event of the film making sufficient net revenue
- If the actor is willing, pay part Award fee, and defer the remainder of the Award fee into a commitment in Contract to pay that remainder in the event of the film making sufficient net revenue
There are at this time no charges for registering in the ACTOR LINK service and none in the event an individual secures a contract.
